My DD-3 Died :(

My DD-3 died last night at my gig.

I noticed since I got it when running off battery, the LED was always really dim. A week ago at a party it died on stage and i thought it was just the battery. I changed it out and it kept working.
I think i was having a problem where I would'nt get a delay sound - but it was still turning on.

And last night I was running it off a power supply it went dead and wouldnt pass the signal, it was completely dead- both running of battery and adapter.
At one stage it would pass the clean signal but wouldnt turn on, and then it cut out completely.

I had a look at it today and it would turn on - the LED is really dim. Then I opened it to have a quick look inside and moving something around must have done something because it won't turn on now. Though I dont know.

I measured the battery, which was pretty low, it had like 7.8v - but when it is plugged into the delay, it only reads about 3.5v - does this mean anything or is the pedal just using power?
I have tried a bunch of batteries, that battery was 9V the other day when I put it in.

Any ideas on what I could do? I have a multimeter and I am able to solder etc.

Your problem could be caused by a few things. Lets start by asking what version is your DD-3... Big chip version or the square chip on the back of the pc board?

Its the square chip on the back of the PCB.

I tried using it again yesterday with a different battery and the LED was bright and the unit was fine.

I don't trust it though, especially since it's died running on batteries and the power supply.
