types of delay

I am unfamiliar with delay pedals but would like to buy or perhaps build one for my own occasional use. Does anybody know what type of delay Santana is using in that last solo on She's Not There? That is a really cool sound and I managed to wring it out of my friend's digital delay but I don't remember what setting it was or what it was called. Tonepad has a delay layout called the rebote delay and I wonder if that would be capable of producing that sound.

The echo in She's Not There was most likely added during mixdown. My band does that song and I've nailed it pretty closely with my Echoplex.
