  • Chandler Tube Driver AC noise issue

I own a couple of old Chandler Tube Drivers from the 80's (BK Butler signed) that show up an annoying AC noise, especially when I switch on compressors. I suspect that the electrylitic caps could be an issue, since the age of the units. I was thinking of substituting also their internal transformer with a modern mini toroidal type (the trafo present at the moment is an aftermarket unit I installed when I bought the pedals, since the original ones had US 110V specs).
Could a 3,2VA toriodal transformer be appropriate? These will give approx. 0,133 Amperes output power at 12V.

Rapid here in the UK sell mini-toroidal 12v txs (3.2VA) with twin 12v windings. I just parallel up the 12v windings to double up on the current rating, so I get 266mA @ 12v. They also sell 5VA ones that are a tiny bit bigger and not much more expensive either. I think they're around £6.00 or so.
