  • Crybaby to Colorsound conversion

It may seem unbelievable, but even after hearing most of boutique and modded wah vids/samples on the net (and having owned a few too), I'm disenchanted with the Crybaby circuit/sound. But the Colorsound wah with it's WHOACKA factor seems to be what my I'm looking for.
These wah schematics seem a bit confusing. The Colorsound has a bit a "cathode follower" thing going on.
If you don't mind, what needs to be changed/moved to work this out?

A new pot is on the way: NOS Rare Vintage Dunlop Clarostat Hot Potz 1 Wah Pot - eBay (item 280447101193 end time Feb-03-10 17:17:30 PST)
I'm also sourcing a 550uh inductor as the current Fasel is thrashed.

Most of the WHOACKA that you hear is a combination of the inductor and potentiometer. If you haven't read RG Keen's "Technology of Wah Pedals" I encourage you to do so.
The inductor's core material plays a big role in how the inductive field saturates the core just enough so the result is the very pronounced WHOACKA... Geoffrey Teese figured out the right core material and that's why his wahs sound so good.

I don't know about the fasel inductor you can buy, though?
