boss geb-7,cs-3 problems

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem.
guitar into the geb-7,into the cs-3.
only the geb-7 lights up. nothing thru the cs-3(no power at all)
they are running on 2 different power supplies.

Do you get the same symptoms if the power supplies are swapped? Or if you run on batteries? Or just run the instrument through the CS-3 without the EQ pedal? Do you have the right power supplies for the pedals?

It might be nice to figure out if you have a power supply problem or if the problem is in the unit.
