  • Boss CS-3 makes a fuzzy noise when engaged

I have a Boss CS3 compression and sustain pedal. I have owned it for a while, and all of a sudden it has now become very noisy. I took it apart, and all solders appear to be intact.

It only fuzzes when the pedal is engaged. Any hints?

What is your level of technical skills?
    - can you obtain and use a voltmeter?
    - ... ohmmeter?
    - can you read a schematic?
    - can you solder reliably on PCBs like the one in the unit?
Amazing!! Who would ever have guessed that someone who villified the evil rich people would begin happily accepting their millions in speaking fees!

Oh, wait! That sounds familiar, somehow.

I am pretty technical. I have worked on computers a decent amount, and done some soldering.

I dont have access to a multimeter, but I can get one.

I can read some schematics, I have a semester of electrical physics under my bealt, a bit rusty, but I can figure it out most likely.

my soldering seems decent, it looks similiar to the existing solders.
