Ok so i bought a bunch of Mogami wire and Neutrik connectors about a month ago to make custom length patch cables.
About 2 weeks ago i cut 4 pieces of wire and realized all 4 were too short after already soldering the connectors on 3 out of the 4 wires. So i desoldered the connectors that were on the 3 wires and saved the wire in hopes of using the wire elsewhere in a place that required shorter wire.
Fast forward 2 weeks.
The 3 wires that i has soldered/desoldered were completely corroded. I'm talkikng that shiny orange was now brownish orange and there was blueish green powder everywhere. Now the 4th wire that i just cut but did not solder was completely fine.
Now i'm freaking out that maybe i soldered the connectors on incorrectly and now all that wire that's on my board is corroded. Why did the 3 wires corrode in only 2 weeks while the other wire was not corroded?
Am i doing something worng? Soldering incorrectly? Should i be worried about the wires that are already on my board? Are they corroded as well? Someone help!
