Ross compressor clone gain

I built the Ross Compressor from the GEOfex site, bought the board from General Guitar Gadgets. It is assembled (but not in enclosure), and when the effect is engaged, there is a significant gain drop. I was going to go back and check all of the resistor values, but I thought I would ask if this is normal first. I've never had or built a compressor, so I don't know too much about them. You can hear the effect when it is engaged.

Have you checked your bias on the transistors. If their not biased properly you can have that gain loss. Just a thought. Danny
