I've been kicking this around for a while and finally did a breadboard build of the Vulcan Overdrive in this schematic:

It sounded way too thin, stripped of bass. I double checked everything and even changed the middle cap/resistor set up for max gain. It was also pretty noisy, but I might attribute that to being on a breadboard. It just didn't give me any pleasing tones. I've built alot of FET based overdrives and distortion circuits that have worked very well and this one just fell flat for me.
Anyone else try this one out?
