Replacement for 1n4005 diode

Hi, I found this schematic: http://www.modkitsdiy.com/sites/defa...0Schematic.pdf and I'm planning to build it. The only problem is I couldn't find the ln4005 diodes. Are those replaceable? Or do I have to keep on looking..
These are the diodes I have: 1N270, 1N914, 1n4001, NOS Germanium diode, 1N4007.
I don't know much about diodes and honestly nothing about the conditions under which they can be replaced, so any information about that is much appreciated as well!!

The 1N4007's should work fine. They are pretty much the same but can withstand a bit more voltage.

The whole 1N4xxx diode family is considered 'general purpose'.
Meaning just that.
They are not germanium, fast, schottky, zener.
You get the drift.
I am a bit confused by the schematic.
It seems to show a 12AU7 being operated on a 9 volt battery.
Anyway, you can safely use the 1N4007 diodes that you have.
They have a higher voltage rating than the 1N4005.

Luckily I decided I wasn't going to use the 9v and just the DC power jack instead!
