  • Blackstar HT Boost

I have an Ibanez Tube King Distortion box to go in front of my solid state amp and it is insane! It really changes the character of the amp to feel like a tube amp. I like it so much that I would like something similar for clean tones. I looked at the Ibanez Tube King Overdrive, but from the demos it looks like it only cleans up to a light crunch. I'm looking for a tube box that will start at pure clean and go to a mid-crunch which is where the Tube King Distortion starts.

Reading the literature on the Blackstar boost, it says that it starts at a pure clean. Unfortunately, all of the video demos online start with the gain dial at 50% and work it up from there to show off the crunch capabilities so I can't validate the fact that it sounds good clean.

Does anyone own an HT Boost and can you tell me if it sings clean with the capability to shape the tone with the EQ section?

    Thanks!

This doesnt really answer your question, and i dont have one, so i cant comment....
    Blackstar DS-2 HT and HT-5
Ibanez Tube King shoudl be easy enough to modify for less gain. If you really like the sound of the one you have, then that may be the best solution.
I suggest you have a look at freestompboxes.org • Index page and search for ibanex tube king there.
Also, check out Bajaman tube drive, i have built one & it sounds really nice.

Thanks! Since it seems that not many people have this pedal I figured that I would take on for the team. I ordered it and I'll post my results here.
