  • Insulated DC Power Connector

I need an insulated DC power connector like a Kobiconn 163-1060-EX. The ID and OD can be a different size, although the connector has to fit through a round hole and insulate the connections from the chassis. Mouser has the mentioned part on order with a lead time of 4 months. Anybody know of something similar that I could order now?

I saw that. The OD of the hole is several mm larger the one I am trying to replace. I idea here is to find an insulated connector that can fit in the existing hole, or as close as possible. The existing hole is about 8.5mm. It's on a classic pedal, so I'm trying to avoid modifying the chassis.

I might end up using an external plug. on a cable that goes through existing hole. Then I guess I'd just put a grommet in the hole.

Mouser is expecting them to ship January 15. factory lead time is for when you want to make a factory order, like you need 100,000 of them for OEM work.

How about these? In stock now. Oh, 11mm...

The hole size for that would be 12.5mm to 13mm. That would require enlarging the hole by about 4mm. I found an inline jack. I just send it back to the customer with the inline jack on a pigtail. He wanted to keep the pedal free of permanent changes.

                If it works, it works.

You found the part you liked at Mouser, but they were out of stock. Did you also look at Digikey, Allied, Newark for the same Kobicon part number?

I checked with Digikey. I actually prefer Digikey for one of items I need like this, because they offer USPS first class shipping that takes only two days and cost only three bucks. I ended up ordering the inline jack from them. I neglected to check with Newark or Allied, although I'll have to check to see if they offer USPS first class shipping, as I remember Newark is UPS or FedEx only.
