  • Boss CE2 LED problem

    Hi,
I have a CE2 with a LED problem: I can't get the LED to work when using the power adapter. The effect works fine, but no light.
    Here are my findings:
    -LED works fine with battery
-changed the power jack, still same problem.
-did the resistor/diode jumper, still nothing.

    Looking for some guidance

Well, if I remember right, on Boss pedals the light will go out if the battery voltage is low, so check what voltage your adaptor is putting out when loaded by the pedal.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

Some Boss pedals are very finicky about the power supply. If it is an old CE-2 (pre 1997?) it needs the ACA 12V supply, no longer available. With a PSA supply, the led will not light.
Are you using the Boss supply specified on the sticker on the pedal?

Edit: I missed where you said you did the resistor/diode jumper, I would triple check that it is correct: http://stinkfoot.se/archives/1019
Are you using a 9V regulated adapter?
