Boss Compressor Sounds Like a fuzz box

Hello!!
I hadn't plugged in my Boss Cs-3 for a couple of years. Now it sounds like a buzz box. Ideas on where to start?
Is this worth having someone fix?

Probably not if you go to a $60.00/hr tech.

Used, they can be had for less than that.
