Strip Ribbon cable to attach to PCB?

Hi, i'm trying to fix a rocktron banshee talkbox. The ribbon connector became damaged. So far I have desoldered and removed it from the pcb. I don't know how to strip the wires to attach it back. Is this possible hopefully without any specialty tools, if not, what would i need to use?

You can do it with a side cutters. Cut between each wire and then strip each like any other wire. Or, you could remove it all together and run 5 separate wires. Might be more reliable anyway?
