  • Mod a Philosopher's Tone?

    Yeah sounds nuts, but to get more low end out of it or add a Bass control, say add it on lug 1of the treble pot? Any suggestions on values?

        I haven't opened mine up, assuming it's all SMD components.

        To add bass control, I'd ditch the "grit" circuit, and use that op amp (U3B) for an active bass control. Notice how on the treble control, it's a freq-selective NFB loop. The same technique aughta be possible with another stage (in parallel with the treble circuit?), to control the bass.
