I just picked up a Rockman Guitar Ace on Ebay. My objective is to take the module out and place it in an enclosure I can place on the floor. I've already disassembled it and it shouldn't be hard to do, except that the enclosure will be larger than a 1590bb. I've owned several Rockman products in the past and like the distortion, but didn't want to cut up an X100 or Sustainor that are hot items on Ebay, and really only want the distortion tone in a floor box.
I read all the reviews before I got it, and the common complaints I found to be true. The compressor in it pumps more than I like, and I'd like to get a little more agressive distortion out of it.
Just wondering if anyone is familiar with these. There is a trim pot in it that has been gooped, but shouldn't be hard to remove, and a jumper clip that I will experiment with to see what it does when I move it. I suspect that the trim pot has something to do with the compression. Thanks in advance for any mod tips.
