Question about Jetter Red Shift

I just received a used Jetter Red Shift and when switching it in the Red mode it cuts in and out for about 30 seconds. Is this normal?

P.S. There are two JFETs in the feedback loop of the 1st opamp stage. Red Shift is a combination of their Gain Stage Red and Purple. Schem of GSR is below:

I got a reply from Brad Jetter that suggests that he puts a lifetime warranty on his pedals, provided that they haven't been tampered with. There is a $15 charge to cover return shipping.
