  • WEM Copicat SS help needed

Has anyone got a nice clean schematic for a WEM copicat. I think my one is a Mk IV solid state. Can't read the transistor codes on the schematic I found. Are they all BC109, or are some BC108 and BC107?

    Any help appreciated.

If you can't find one quickly, email Mr. Watkins himself here:

    wem.watkins@btinternet.com

    Visit the WEM/Watkins page here:

Good ol' Charlie actually sent a couple of schems (along with some tape loops) to a guy who had three old tube units that I agreed to try to fix, (and did. To my pleasant surprise, my payment was one of the later tube units!)

They may even be able to send it digitally now, I don't know. They are still in business. Just give them as much info as possible.

    A tidbit on WEM:

Picked up the latest David Gilmour DVD "Remember That Night-Live at the Royal Albert Hall". Basically his latest solo album live, with some Floyd thrown in, and with underwhelming performances by Bowie and unnecessary interjections of Crosby/Nash. Other than that, pretty entertaining. Gilmour even attempts the sax...and doesn't do TOO badly! Anyway, plenty of WEM speakers in the backline. Not quite the backdrop of WEM on "Pompeii", but kind of fun to see him using some of that stuff again. Were they new, or did he drag some stuff out of storage. I'm guessing probably new, since WEM is still in business.

Thanks Brad. It's really good to know that such an iconic figure is still doing good stuff for musicians, I have emailed him.
