  • Chandler Tube Driver Wall Wart

I have a Chandler Tube Driver but it is missing it's wall wart. It is the big clunky mid late 80's version, that has an AC power supply, not the smaller later model that used a DC supply.

Anyone know the specs (voltage and current) of the original supply?

    Thanks,
    Andrew.

The supply is 12.6vac I'm not sure of the exact current but about 2 amps should cover it.

Thanks, now if I could only figure out how to clean the pots, I'd be set.

What do those things sound like I'm thinking of making one.

I have the Tube Works Blue Tube pedal...I'm pretty sure BK Butler also designed the Chandler unit. It's a great sounding overdrive pedal. The Tube Driver has more gain. The only issue with the Blue Tube is the output impedance is too high, and it gets loaded down easily. An output buffer fixes that.

I see Genz Benz still has the Tube Driver manual: http://www.genzbenz.com/img/manuals/...ser_manual.pdf

It says the power supply was 9V DC, 200mA Min... so anything should work fine.

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
