Tone Lok Tubescreamer HELP!

howdy folks......i have a tube screamer that was made when ibanez was doing thise big silver "tone lok" pedals. The switch was kinda flakey, so i tried replacing it with (what i thought was) a more heavy duty momentary switch (drilled a hole in the battery cover), but that didn't work well either.

got any ideas?
