noisey mxr phase 90

Hi guys
I've got an mxr phase 90 (orange ) from the late 80's that has pulsating hum when engaged (humm-quiet-humm-quiet) .
It gets very loud when the overdrive is kicked in.
I know its not an expensive pedal but i would like to fix it if i can.
THe phaser works fine when the guitar is played through it.

Sounds like you may be getting dc voltage on one of the stages. You may have a bad FET or a leaky .05 capacitor that isolates dc from one stage to the other?

I would suspect a bad JFET.
