  • Boss Heavy Metal MT-2 no LED worky

i have a Boss Heavy Metal MT-2 no LED does not work. The pedal effects work just fine though.
Heres what i have right now battery voltage is 6.99
At ZD1 one side I get 6.81v the other side with pedal switched off 1.8v when on it is 2.46v

    At Q6pin1 .600v pin2 .05 pin3 .02
    At Q5pin1 .002c pin2 .005v pin3 .03
    Led test ok on meter.
Dumb question as i write this ZD1(though I'm not sure how to correctly read the schematic) If its reverse biased to be a regulator the battery voltage maybe too low. I will go try a fresh battery.

Which indeed was the answer not enough juice for the LED but enough for the effects. Instead of just deleting the post I thought I'd leave it here for others that might run across the issue and go as far as I did before changing the battery.

See 5.6V zener in series with the LED.
Zener voltage plus LED forward voltage of 1.6V determines the threshold for LED light.

Weak LED shows it's time to change the battery.

It was dropped off with Led not working but pedal FX working. So instead of following protocol and verifying power supply output I bypassed that causing me more time.
