  • Nu-X MG300 Part

Looking to replace damaged component but cannot find info when I search the labelling on IC. The part is in power supply section and is SO-223 or SO89 pkg labelled VT01. Board label is U18. I suspect it may be 3.3vdc regulator. Unit runs fine with the IC removed from circuit but is affected by small AC power variations like a refrigerator starting up etc.

Find an IC on the board that use a 3.3V supply (using datasheets). Then, see if there is continuity from that IC's supply pin to any of the pads where that "regulator" solders onto the board. I suspect you are correct about it being a 3.3V regulator, but a little checking will verify.

You could try contacting them. They most likely won't supply a schematic, but they might tell you what U18 part number is:

Great idea on the 3.3vcc tracing. Definitely give it a try. Contacted Nu-X and they wouldn't give any info. "Take it to an authorized repair center.

No 'Right to Repair' there, then. A good reason not to buy their products.

A quick update to the repair. I found the Texas Instruments datasheet, code VT indicates 2.8VDC regulator. Ordered, installed and tested.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction folks, much appreciated.
