  • Spell-Check on MEF?

Does your Spell-Check work when you type on the MEF?
My Fire Fox browser would show a red Squiggly line on misspelled words, every site but here.
G-One figured it out for us.
Under Options, or Preferences, Advanced, general tab, check spelling must be checked.
If it still doesn't work, while typing text, right click with your mouse, and check two things.
Check Spelling needs to have a check, and at Languages, make sure your language has a dot by it!

        Hmmm.
Is that something that you have to enable?
        Maybe mine is not.

Don't have a clue about IE.
check options, and try the right click trick.

I'm using Firefox V34.0 (Spelling checker works fine)
I just opened the forum using IE 8 and I find that the spell checker does not work with IE.
I'm on the exact same computer, running under XP Professional, using the same account in both cases.
This seems to point to an IE / MEF compatibility or capability issue. I do not recall ever selecting a specific setting related to the spell checker.

Ok, only half joking, there is a spell check add on for IE, but I think it should be built in for IE10, though maybe not compatible with the forum?
Will get back to you on this.

Ok, I'm in IE7 noww it's reely slow, lot's of ads, and no spell check.
What's with all the green stuff?
Up at the top row of tools in this text box, there is a button that says ABC with a green check mark. If I click on it, it prompts to download "iespell" a spell checker for windows internet explorer.
I guess for IE users, that is what you have to do.
Do you have that box in the toolbar JazzP Bass ?

                    Edit: see here for IE10:

Sorry, talking about spell check for IE. What version of IE do you have? (for IE 7,10, or 11, see post #10)

For IE9 you have to use an add-on.
I like the sounds of speckie, it gives you the red squiggle for mis-spells like the one built in to firefox.
Add Spell Checking to Internet Explorer 9
