Facebook & Firefox hogging CPU on Mac today

Wow - for some reason the combination of Firefox 39.0 (latest) and my Facebook News Feed page was hogging my MacBook Pro CPU like crazy and running the fans at full speed. Chugging along at 80-90% and spiking to 135%.

Did the usual stuff (close/restart, etc.).


Started doing some research but now suddenly it's OK again after a couple hours of acting crazy. During this time I was able to view the same page in Safari with no excessive CPU use.


Weird...

I thought maybe I was just noticing something that had maybe been there before, but now I'm thinking I may have a similar issue to yours.
For me it was after updating to firefox 38 that it seemed my fan was coming on a lot more often.
