I've used Adblock, and Adblock plus for years.
I loaded a linux distro, that had Firefox 43 with a preloaded Adblocker called uBlock Origin.
    See Screen Shot.
It uses less resources, and blocks more ads than Adblock Plus.
I have it on firefox, and it is also available for other browsers.
    So far, it works great!
You may want to give it a try.

uBlock Origin, is no longer supported, and quit working on all my linux machines with firefox.
I downloaded a new FREE ad blocker, called Adblocker Ultimate.
    So far so good.

I had adblock plus, and ublock, and noscript.
The adblock+ and ublock got messed up so I disabled them.
Since that, I found that the noscript takes care of enough of the ads that I don't feel a need for an adblocker anymore. (I do still have adblock for webmail)
