chromebook?

Does anyone here have any experience with Chromebooks? My wife is thinking she wants one. Her linux machine is dead and her old Win. laptop is, well you know windows, complicated, glitchy, long updates. etc.
So what are the pros and cons of Chrome?

I always thought they cost too much for what you get.
How old is the windows laptop?
I would load up a usb with ubuntu, wipe the drive with gparted?
Then load the new ubuntu on there.
I had my wife's laptop dual boot win10, and ubuntu, and no one used the win10, it was too slow.
So I wiped it last time and put linux XFCE version 18.04 LTS, it is good for 4 years.
She's happy with it. I should update it more often, but she doesn't use it much!

The win machine is only a couple of years old. If it was up to me I'd set it up for dual boot. It's the only win machine in the house, so I don't want to loose it's original os. Our son has a chromebook and likes it, so mom's probably going to get one too

There's actually a lot of favorable reviews of Chromebook.
Especially if you mainly web surf and check email.
If you do a lot of on-board program related things, then windows, linux, or Mac, would probably be best!

Here's another chromebook review.
I think the CB works best if you have a google web account.
I don't, I do most things media wise through my Yahoo account.
I monitor my finance through yahoo account.
I do use the google browser, and I use yahoo email, and hushmail.
