I've finally made a complete conversion, I have been able to sucessfully find any program to do what I want. The only thing that seems to be iffy is my printing HP Officejet 8600 wireless

First line after "Introduction:" You need to install HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) software.
I've already done that, I can print but occasionally need to cycle the power on the printer to be able to print again after the laptop has went to sleep.

Ubuntu just came out with 20.10 official.
20.04 is the Long Term LTS issue.
20.10 is a short interval supported release.
I have it loaded on my test machine, and it runs good.
You can download it here. https://distrowatch.com/?newsid=11050
It comes in several desktop flavors. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/

I use bootable USB drives to load linux.
From Linux, I use the gnome disk utility to write the .iso to usb.
This youtube video shows how to use the gnome-disk utility. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiMUD9is-LA
Once you write the .iso file to usb, then you need to boot the computer to the usb.
You will have to allow the usb boot option in computer bios.

Here is a quick review of the Fedora FC34 Workstation, with the all new Gnome 40.beta desktop.
All the 3. gnome desktops, last one was 3.38, used a vertical style desktop.
The gnome 40 uses a horizontal desktop, which changes the look and feel, a lot.
It is still in developement, and should be out officially mid to late april.
It uses the also new 5.11.7 gereric kernel.
It is very fast and besides the horizontal layout, it works very similar to Fedora FC33.
Here are some screenshots, to get an idea what it looks, and feels like.

Hi Linux Fans!
After using the new Linux Fedora FC34 release, with the new Gnome 40 desktop for nearly a week?
IMO Gnome 40 is a game changer, in how gnome will be used in the future.
With the Horizontal layout, used in conjunction with the hot keys and the super button, it is much faster than anything else I've used.
If you like to use multiple windows, and I do, gnome 40 makes changing, opening, and switching windows a breeze.
FC34 upgrades from GTK3 to GTK4, and it makes all the screen animations much faster and smoother.
Check it out.
Fedora FC 34 can be downloaded for FREE, and for trial, from here. https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/nightlies.html
Official FC34 will be out late April.
Fedora FC34 Workstation, is a very advanced and sophisticated release, I predict it will only get better with time!

If you are a linux user?
I highly recommend the new Gnome 40 desktop that comes preloaded on Fedora 34 Workstation.
I've been running the Beta version since mid March.
A bit of a learning curve, but worth it.
The Official Fedora 34 can be downloaded from here, for free. https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/
I really dig it!
