Epiphone Special II-No Tone

I am a newbie here and need some help. I have a Epiphone Special II that is about a year old. I have had no problems with since I have owned it. All of a sudden the "Tone" doesn't work and the "Volume" on the guitar isn't as loud. I have to turn the volume on the amp half way just to get decent sound. Normally it's on 1 or 2 on the amp settings. I checked my Spider amp to see if this was the problem, I hooked up my strat and it played with no problem. Therefore this narrows this to the guitar. I don't have a clue what happened or how to go about troubleshooting this guitar.

I would greatly appreciated any assistance in helping with this matter.

Very likely the pots have worked loose and have spun around inside the cavity - possibly shorting signal and may have yanked the link to the tone pot free.
