  • Fender Strat Wireing Question

I recently put a Lace sensor pickup in the Bridge location On my 2008 American Standard Strat. It sounds Great. Well I rewired the hole guitar Just cuz I wanted to do it. I did a nice clean job, The Volume Pot works correctly, The Bridge Tone pot works correctly, But the middle tone pot acts like a volume instead of tone. I used a schematic off fenders site for the wireing. Im wondering if anyone would have any ideas what i could have done wrong ? Any Helpm would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you post a link to the schematic and a picture of your Strat harness?

If you can't get a photo or schematic, check your cap-to-ground connections on the middle pot. Somehow you may have missed the cap and wired directly to ground. It can happen if one the legs or leads of the cap is just touching the back of the pot. Sometimes pushing the pickguard back on the body cramps the wiring and pushes the cap lead onto the pot.
