My friend sent me this link about a year ago and haven’t been able to get it out of my head.
Gibson Flying V with P90 Pickups
That red V in the first 4 pictures of the write up is HAWT!!!!!!

I was hooked as soon as I saw this pic. Knowing Gibson would never make a V with P-90’s and since I know how to use a soldering iron, I decided to make my own with a minor twist. I set my project V up to kind of look like a “Flying V Jr.” would if Gibson made one back in the day.
I use a faded red Gibson V with black pickguard & truss rod cover, a single Seymour Duncan P-90 in the bridge and just a volume control.
The donor V body I got from eBay before polishing.
Got my custom pickguard from here… http://www.terrapinisland.com/estore...roducts_id=192
Pickguard test fit.
ATTN: Gibson
Why don't you make V's with black pickguards and truss rod covers?

I had to make a new lead for the SD Hot P-90 I got for free.
More in part two!
