If you can get to the back of the potentiometer, they sometimes have the resistance listed on it. It will most likely be an audio taper pot (probably not a linear taper...possibly marked with an A after the value) and will say the range of resistance on the back or side. There are alot of places to find the potentiometers online. You just need to find one that will physically fit if this is your problem.
