Bypass pots and caps

Hi! Has anyone tried to add a bypass switch to their guitar, which bypasses the pots and caps, and leaves you with just the unprocessed pickup signal? I came to think of this the other day but, since I'm a noob guitar-tech I don't really know how to do it... So if someone can shed some light on this I would be really glad!

Hi, I've done this to a couple guitars & I love it - the "Neil Young" switch. I use a DPDT, the signal from the pickups goes to one center pole, the connection to the output jack goes on the other center pole. Here's a quick schematic. Hope this helps.
