My Guitar
====================================================
Hello Ronsonic :
Took me a long while researching state of the art guitars many years . Needed to do it on a working musician's budget .
Actually started late in the game on guitar after playing Blues , Country Western , Jazz and Standards with a harp . Eventually going from sideman to frontman on harp first too for many years and then my little miracle
36 years 3 months 11 days - - from when I stopped ( not my choice ) playing what little I knew as a kid to when a miracle happened and now I get to give it a second go in life at 48 ( On Oct. 12 1998 ) .
Took 3 months to heal from Oct . You see it was milk bottle glass embedded into my left chording hand and finger tips and the last SOB piece of glass on my left ring finger tip comes out .
So .... I needed too and did learn the stuff I made a $ all these years only now I gotta make it with a guitar and lots of hard dedicated time later - like 5 to 6 hour average 5 to 6 maybe 7 days a week it was first with a nylon classical type Spanish guitar for a year and then a nice steel string rosewood acoustic electric for 2 more years and I'm at the proverbial cross road .
What does now dictate in qualifying something that will give me anything from Muddy Waters to Hank Williams - T-Bone Walker - B . B . King to Peter Green and Santana - Moody Blues .
When I priced Gibson - Fender - Ibanez - and all the usual high profile guitar co.s and realized Godin for years was supplying most of them necks and other replacement wooden parts it made me re assess just what I wanted in an electric guitar state of the art's ville . With functionality - durability - craftsmanship - quality of tonewoods - and :
¨Bang For De Buck !
No one could touch da Godin .
kick in reviews online and from first hand remarks and listening - -
well when I saw the looks of the one I got ( and even had the gall to walk away form it when offered a way low deal below list and a new - demo - Roland GR33 guitar synthesizer module free ) I knew I was going to end up with it anyway
Came back 2 days later after realizing no one in southern California could come close to the first deal offered .
Weighs in like a Les Paul no fooling , I guess a solid mahogany body and neck like the LP really produces some solid sustain & I'm down with that .
The maple face is a trip to look into heh heh heh - I find myself lost just looking at it .
It's 7 years now with the electric and wow - never thought , although I prayed for years , that I would play guitar again . Once realizing on the nylon that I was ready for a steel string and then 4 years and I knew I was ready for an electric these past 7 years have flown like hyper space because I am having such a ball in the discovery of how it's done and the executing what I want to do on either one other the guitars I have .
I work and practice mostly on the nylon and the steel string acoustic electric - After I do that a while ( work out arrangements for weeks at a time ) on the nylon and steel string acoustic electric I then try out what I would arrange for the electric guitar and the guitar synthesizer sounds too . When I play the Godin I go faster than I ever thought this man could possibly go .
It has made me realize I have exceeded my wildest expectations of my ability to play a guitar decently to my own super critical judgment . And made me realize I can actually improve and go further too .
Thanks man easy now .
