  • Need help wiring that Switch!

I have a Rickenbacker 330 with a vintage Toaster Pickups. On the old models there is a 0.0047 bass cut capacitor between the selector switch and the treble volume pot. on the newer ones there's just a cable. I can't decide which way I want it so i want to make it switchable with a on-on spdt switch like this: http://www.cascadesurplus.com/catalo...on_Switch1.jpg

You'll find a schematic here under Guitar, 5 Controls, 2 Pickups, Mondo: Guitar Schematics

How would you wire that switch? I thought from the selector to the middle lug on the switch and the two outer lust to the pot, one with the cap.

    Would that work?

It is inline with the (+) lead of the pickup. It removes the low end.

Here's the Rick schematic without the switch:

C3 is the cap. The switch acts as a jumper.

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

That will work... you actually only need a SPST switch. Don't disconnect the cap at either end. Just short a wire across it. You will get a pop if you wire it like that.

Here's a modified version. I also removed the mixer, since I assume you are doing a 4 knob version... the mixer is useless. It's a redundant extra volume control for the neck pickup. I also ungrounded one of the lugs on the tone pots. You don't want to ground those as it adds extra loading to the pickups.
