  • Wiring Schematic for this bass pickup configuration.

I am almost done with my bass , which is going to involve 2x Jazz pups and 1x humbucker. Something similar to this

I am quite confused about the wiring schematic for it . I intend to have 1x Stacked V/T pot for the bridge pickup 1x Stacked V/T pot for the neck pickup and 1x Volume for the Humbucker . I have been asking around , and not got an answer yet. Some say its not a good idea etc , as the resistance would decrease etc and reccomend VVVT pots . I was wondering if anyone could help me in making a wiring diagram so i could refer to?

    Thanks in advance

The stacked tone Jazz basses are darker sounding. You can't set two tones differently while both pickups are on anyway.

You are better off with a volume for each pickups and having one stacked for master tone. You should space them better than that also.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

but i am curious as to why that bass has that setup , 2x Stacked knobs and a volume? is there a reason for that?

Because it started off as a stacked knob two pickup Jazz, and then he added the neck pickup and moved the jack to the side.

supposing if i wanted to have the exact setup , wouldn't the tones act like masters? regardless of the pickups? Well i also been reading that having resistors between the volume output would solve it sacrificing a slight output and treble?

Yes. As long as both of those pickups are on, either tone will affect both. But both tones turned down sounds different as well.

You get some isolation, along with reduced output and a darker tone. But you wont get one pickup dark and one bright.

By the way, I think that neck pickup is an old Bartolini GBC, judging from the dimensions in my old Bartolini/Hi-A catalog from the 70's. The G model was a replacement for the old Guild mudbuckers.
