My friend Bob Wolstein (Highlander Audio) designed a studio in Tokyo. The machine room with 24 track 2" tape machine, MIDI gear, and computers was just adjacent to the control room. He lined the entire room with oxygen free copper plate and ran an oxygen free copper rod 10' into the ground for...yes, ground.

At the Alembic recording studio in San Francisco, we buried an 18" diameter bronze boat propeller directly under the console and star grounded the studio to it.

    That's grounding...

In a guitar, if you have less than about 100 Ohms from any point of the cavity to your jack ground, you're OK.

        It sure is!!!

Hey Rick, I hope you'll be at NAMM again this year. I want to stop by with Michael and talk a bit more about the origin of that boat propeller!
