  • Bypassing tone controls

I'm planning on bypassing the tone knob on a double humbucker guitar. The guitar has 1 tone knob and 1 volume knob. The tone is connected to the volume(in series i believe) by one wire. The volume is connected to the input jack and the pickups. In theory cutting that wire between the tone and volume would bypass the tone while still being able to hear the guitar, but that seems to easy to be true. Is this how I would do it?

    Yes , that will work.
Or you can lift the capacitor ground connection.
