Hi ya'll..I have a G&L asat special with the mfd pickups on it...on a gig last Sat nite this high pitched squeal or hum came out of my amp..I never heard it before, I assumed it was the power on stage as we played on an outdoor stage. Well, yesterday I bought a blues jr, this morning that squeal came again..totally diff amp..plugged directly into the amp...so it almost has to to be the pickups or one of them...anybody recognize this prob, and do you have a solution?..thx a million..Doc

Sounds like Microphonics.
Check to make sure nothing loose, in and on the guitar.
If the pickups are the culprit, they can be Wax Potted, to help on the microphonics.
If the guitar is a Tele, Tele bridge pickups are famous for microphonics, if the baseplate is loose.
check that it is not loose. metal baseplates can be wax potted also.
Can you explain when it squeals.
Is it all the time, at high volume, when standing in front of the speaker, etc. ?

Have the p-ups potted. The squeal is caused by either loose windings or anything else that can move around with vibration and that will cause oscillation with a fairly loud amp.
If it is more of a howl than a high pitched squeal, the mounting of the p-up(s) may be at fault. The farmer takes a wife, the barber takes a pole....
