  • Need diagram for two volume, one tone, two single coil pups

    Hey,
I'm trying a new idea, but lack certain skills. I can solder anything, but need diagrams for some stuff. This is a Tele project. Big T in the neck, Jim Rolph in the bridge. I want to throw away the selector switch, and just have vol. neck, vol. bridge, and master tone. I've got my own ideas on pot and cap values. I want to use 50's wiring, as the "new wiring" makes no sense to me. Thanks...Bob"picknconk"

Sounds like your trying to wire your guitar Like a Standard J-Bass.
    Give this a try.

Looks like what I asked for. Is this the way they were always done, or is this a newer setup? 50's style?..Bob

The P-Bass came out in the 50s.
Wiki Says that the J Bass is 1960s vintage.
        Got this from Wiki.
The original Jazz Bass had two stacked knob pots with volume and tone control for each pickup. Original instruments with this stacked configuration are highly valued in today's vintage guitar market. Around 1961 it received three control knobs: two controlling the volume of each pickup and one the overall tone. Despite this new feature, many stacked knob models were made until about 1962.

          Thanks for the help!

          Terry,
The Duncan diagram you sent me is exactly what I wanted to do.
Couldn't be more grateful...Thanks!... Now I have to learn about three wire single coin Big T pickup from Fralin. I'll hook it up normal, and listen. I don't know if I'll know if I'm in phase or not. Maybe it's obvious, like speakers...Bob
