  • Tone control bypass

Can someone please tell me if this will work to bypass (defeat) the tone control on a guitar? Using this diagram would be a snap in my guitar. Any bad effects from using it. Thanks.

Yes, it will work as intended. Note that what some do is to either coat or scrape off a tiny bit of the conductive/resistive strip inside the tone pot, such that at one extreme of rotation the tone pot is effectively out of circuit. This does exactly the same thing as your toggle arrangement. You can buy such pots as "no load" pots. I have no idea whetherthese turn the tone off in the max treble or max treble-cut position.

Also note that you have/show the tone pot connected to the wiper of the volume control. While the tone control will function in that location, its effect will depend on the settig of the volume control. For some, this can provide some interesting interactivity, while for others it can be a source of annoying unpredictability. Which of those is your scenario, I can't tell. But in most instances, you will see tone controls connected to the input lug of the volume pot.
