  • Bass pots min wattage?

    1st post here....

I'm adding a pickup to an EB-0 bass. The existing pickups are 500k Alphas. I'd like to go to a mini pot like a Bourns because of the lack of space. The Bournes is only a 0.1w pot. Is there a load on these that will damage the system if I don't have a higher wattage pot? Or is this 0.1w ok?

    Thanks
    Greg

No there isn't. The only reason to use larger pots is, they're mechanically more rugged. The shafts won't snap off so easily when you hit the drummer over the head with it.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
