  • Strat pickguard wiring question

What wire size should I use to wire a new pickup/pickguard assembly for my Strat? And should I use stranded or solid wire? Thanks.

22 Gauge Stranded Wire is standard.
It doesn't matter which insulation type you choose.
I make loaded pickguards and sell them with my handmade pickups.
Everyone seems to like the Cloth wire the best, and seems to add to the value.
Fender used cloth wire and black bottom pickups with Heavy Varnished magnet wire, 50s and early 60s until CBS bought Fender.
Then they switched to the Grey bottom pickups plastic or a teflon type wire, and Plain enamel Magnet wire, late 60s and early 70s.
    Hope that helps.
