  • Active Bass Trouble Shooting?

Is there any kind of guide or flow chart, on how to trouble shoot Active Bass Issues?
I pretty well know the Ins and Outs of passive guitars and basses.
I have pretty much stayed clear of the basses because of the active preamp circuit?
Would like to learn more about them?

From what I have had come across the bench, if it is not a solder, wire, battery issue, it's the opamp.

I was hoping for a technique of what to look for.
What to read and expect, and where.
      Thanks,

The bitch of it all is the lack of documentation.
And the preamps are all different!
The ones in acoustic guitars are real fun.
So I guess it just comes down to 'basic' fault finding.
I have seen bad opamps, faulty soldering, coupling caps that don't, broken wires, broken battery connectors.
        Just to name a few.

What's the symptoms? What kind of bass and preamp is it?
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
