Thanks for checking, Pete. I have a sneaky suspicion you may be right at the beginning when you suspected the jack itself. I'll order a new (different) one and see what happens. Do you know anything of the types or names of stereo jacks? What should I look for?

Stereo Jack cuts out when plugged in

It's very difficult to see, but it looks like you may have the end jack (acoustic) connected to the tip switch connection (rather than the tip) in your splitter.
At the stereo jack, try moving the black wire that goes to the acoustic jack, connect it to the terminal that is currently unused.Originally posted by EnzoI have a sign in my shop that says, "Never think up reasons not to check something."
