Which in-guitar (electric) preamp to install

I've a Godin Solidac piezo bridge+ passive B. Lawrence pups which I'd like to switch between better. I see there a few options like the eBay offering of the discrete component Jackson 1000/1500 EMG types. Any suggestions? Hoping for low noise as i use a ton of gain (distortion) sometimes. thank you..
