  • Tele switch

    Hello,
I took the YKE switch out of my squier tele and now I can not figure out how to wire it back in. The wiring diagrams on line are for the Cor-Tek switch.
Has anyone run into one of these before ? It is a Chinese Tele the serial #is CY99*******

        Hello,
OK David, I'm sorry I didn't think to do that myself. I have already buttoned the guitar up so no pictures.
The switch is YKE, it looks completely different than the usual Cor-Tek, which is the one all of the Squier diagrams show. The YKE will be easy enough to see the difference as the letters are raised in the casting.
It is numbered 1 -7 quite plainly. It is wired thus 1 and 2 is the neck pickup, 3 and 4 is the output, 6 and 7 is the bridge pickup, 5 is left open.
So 1 and 2 is bridged, as are 3 and 4, and 6 and 7 are bridged as well.
