  • rickenbacker bass pickup resistance

My buddy reckons that the output on his 4001 Paul McCartney type bass has dropped off - does anyone know what the factory pickup resistances are for the toaster top (part # 00031) and horseshoe (00070) type pickups? They're measuring about 7k and 10k respectively, I wanted to check that there weren't winding shorts by finding out what they should be.
Thanks for your help - Peter

That sounds about right. Ric has changed the specs on the pickups a few times. My two '74 toasters both read about 8.2K.

    I'd check the magnets out.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
