Static guitars

What would you suggest to cure static coming out of the amp when touching the pick guard while playing. I got two that do this now. MIM telecaster bridge pup is fine but the neck is not. I have lined the pick guard back with the tin off another pick guard back. I changed the Pick up because I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and upgrade the neck pick up which I did not like.
